Local Artists Celebrated
LAST night local artists and the community gathered to enjoy the Scone Arts and Crafts opening of the members exhibition.
Amanda Gaffney-Ray entered some of her photography for the first time in the exhibition and was excited to win the travel and portrait category.
“Last night is all a bit of a blur, but it was very exciting to win,” said Ms Gaffney-Ray.
“My friend Sheri Court-Kriesch won the Bruce Roberts-Thompson trophy for her beautiful photo of a mum cradling her baby,” she said.
“She’s a bit like me, we are hobbyists trying to improve our skills,” she said.
“I am constantly working on composition, technique, skills, watching online tutorials and learning as much as I can,” she said.
“It was lovely to have people tell me my photograph of Mia had caught their eye,” said Amanda Gaffney-Ray.

“The entries were of a good quality and I look forward to helping more people grow their photography skills,” he said.
