Letter: Thank You Robert Ryan
The following letter to Robert Ryan from the Upper Hunter District Cricket Association was contributed to the editor:
THE Upper Hunter District Cricket Association received a letter during the off season nominating yourself for Life Membership of the Association. At the recently held AGM the Committee unanimously voted to confer Life Membership on you.
The Committee recognised your many years of service as a player and administrator, as well as your now 30 years’ service as curator. Your dedication and commitment to cricket in the Upper Hunter is a credit to you and greatly appreciated by all those involved in the game in our region. Your tendency to go above and beyond the call of duty, particularly for representative fixtures, is noted.
The Junior Association also values the work you have done for them, and your assistance in the preparation of the new Murrurundi turf was also appreciated.
It was determined by the Committee that you were a very worthy recipient of this honour. The manner in which you go about your work is wonderful, with your advice, humour and experience always valued. You have been a wonderful servant to the game for a long period of time and it is the Committee’s hope that this will continue well into the future!
May I offer my warmest congratulations to you for this recognition of your services. It is an honour that is thoroughly deserved.
Kindest Regards,
Luke Gallagher
