Last Call for Photographs

ENTRIES for the Murrurundi Photographic Prize close on Monday, October 15.

Mandy Archibald, president of the Murrurundi Arts and Crafts Council said they were pleased with the buzz the prize was generating this year and want to encourage people who may be thinking twice about entering to take the plunge.

“There are some great amateur photographers here and we want to encourage them to enter,” said Ms Archibald.

“I’ve heard some people say they don’t think they would be good enough compared to some of the professional photographers,” she said.

“But I think many people underestimate how good some of their images are,” she said.

“There will be fewer images this year, simply because we now have only three entries per category, so there will be plenty of room for new people,” Mandy Archibald said.

The categories for this year include:

• Animals / Wildlife – $200, sponsored by Carmyle Vet Services, Quirindi.
• Landscape / Gardens -$200, sponsored by Glenbrae, Timor.
• Portraiture – $200, sponsored by Boyd’s Creek, Murrurundi.
• Open – $200, sponsored by Barbara Morgan.
• People’s Choice Award – $200.
