Interim General Manager Steps Down
GLENN Inglis is stepping down from his position as Upper Hunter Shire Interim General Manager, due to medical reasons.
Mr Inglis’ last day will be tomorrow, October 30 and Kristian Enevoldson will resume the interim role until a new General Manager is appointed.:
Upper Hunter Shire Mayor Maurice Collison said Council desperately wanted Mr Inglis to finish his term, which was supposed to expire in five weeks time.
“He’s very upset about it but health comes first,” Cr Collison said.
“He wanted to finish his term…but he’s had this little problem for a while and he had no alternative.
Council aims to appoint a new General Manager by mid-November, but Cr Collison said it depends on when they would be available to start.
“It depends on what his or her role is at the moment and the notice they have to give,” he said.
“We’re always hoping to have someone appointed by the middle of November then it’s up to the powers that be, I mean with Christmas coming up it could be hard.
“If we’ve got to wait until the New Year, it’ll be a good way to start off.
Cr Joshua Brown has also resigned after accepting a new job in Western Australia and Council will not be holding a bi-election for his Murrurundi position.
“It’s disappointing…they really need to have a representative from there next September,” Cr Collison said.
“Each of us now have to lift a little bit,” he said.
