Hunter Police Officer Charged With Assault
A SENIOR Hunter police officer has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of common assault, which he allegedly committed whilst off-duty.
The 39-year-old detective senior constable was charged following extensive investigations of a physical altercation with his neighbour in 2019.
Investigations commenced in February 2020 however, further inquiries uncovered another physical altercation between the off-duty officer and the neighbour’s son, which occurred in December 2019.
The officer was served a Future Court Attendance Notice yesterday and is due to appear at Toronto Local Court on Tuesday, December 1 2020.
His employment status is currently under review.
