Huge Flash of Colour
A sea of over 250 clean white runners attended the Youth Council’s Colour Fun Run at the Bill Rose Complex in Scone this morning.
The run was devised as a non competitive fun school holiday event for the local area.
Mary Spora of the youth council was pleased with the community support of the event in both attendance and in the running and preparation of the day.
“The colour fun run is the Youth Council trying to do something locally that usually you have to go away for, it’s a non competitive event designed to just get people out in the holidays having a bit of fun,” Mary Spora said.
“I think thats what has encouraged everybody to get out with their children or their friends children, it’s not a race you can do whatever you want.
“The RFS is spraying water, there is youth service staff from the Upper Hunter Shire Council spraying and barbequing and I also have a heap of the young people from the youth council here helping with the registration, the colour and who also helped plan the event.
“I think we have about 300 people here with about 250 registrations,” said Mary Spora.
Youth Council has an art weekend on November 24-25 with Janno Mclaughlin and an all schools social for high school students where all the schools are invited towards the end of term 4.
