Help with White Goods
THE Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre is holding two workshops for the government ‘appliance replacement officer’ on April 11 and 12.
Lee Watts, manager of the Centre said Centrelink recipients may be entitled to the discounted appliances and encouraged people to contact them.
“The program offers eligible households the opportunity to replace their existing inefficient fridge or TV with a new efficient appliance at subsidised cost,” said Mrs Watts
“There is 40 percent off the cost of a fridge and 50 percent off the cost of TV, which can make a huge difference to people on the pension,” she said.
“Registering for the program does not mean you have to purchase a product, but it is a good idea to complete the registration as it takes a few days to get approval once you apply online,” she said.
