Guy Glad to be in Horse Capital
GUY McLean prefers to be called a horseman than a horse-whisper, “because the horse is always put before the man and that is my life, it’s all about the horses,” said Mr McLean.
Guy will be performing at Scone White Park on Saturday afternoon and has spent his first few days in town visiting local schools to share his love of horses.
“I started out as a love struck kid, blown away by everything that is horse and the horse that I am riding today XC Abbey Dreaming and I dreamt of this bloodline as a little boy, this wonderful stallion carries three bloodlines of the immortal stockhorse Sire Abbey,” he said.
“I wear the “A” on my chest as the Australian Stockhorse ambassador and travel the world, it’s stuff that dreams are made of,” he said.
“You couldn’t drag me away from this life kickin’ and screamin’ to be here today with these beautiful kids and hopefully give them a taste of what they might want to be when they grow up whether it be a horseman like me, or a singer or a hairdresser I want to show them that if you devote your life to something you can have whatever you want,” he said.
In America Guy said he is very much on the “fame bus” going from one event to the other spending more time on the truck than at home, but when he is back on his farm in Queensland he describes himself more as a ringer, fixing fences and training horses.
“It’s fantastic to be here in Scone, the horse capital of Australia and sharing my love of horses with the youth is special,” said Guy McLean.
