Fun Goes On
THE rain yesterday could have put a dampener on the Free Family Fun Day, but more than 100 children came out to play.
Lee Watts, manger of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre said it was a great day out despite the quick venue change to the Council Chambers.
“At 10 o’clock I was panicking we had four children and then at 20 past everyone arrived and it was really good,” laughed Mrs Watts.
“We had the King and Queen of Green and the Arrr Pirates they were here doing environmental plays which were really good and the kids really adapted to that and got really involved,” she said.
“Then there was the EarlyLinks bus out there with the trapeze which was brilliant, the library was here with their books reading to the kids,” she said.
The Aberdeen Men’s Shed and the Aberdeen Lion’s Club cooked up the BBQ, free sausage sizzle, free fruit and water all day,” she said.
Sparkles the Clown was here with her new off-sider the orangutan and it’s also mental health month so we gave out bags with service information,” she said.
“It was another great family day out that didn’t cost parents a cent and the rain didn’t keep anyone away from the fun,” Lee Watts said.
