Fun at the Fun Day
THE Scone community turned out yesterday at Scone Park to enjoy the Family Fun Day in the warm weather.
Lee Watts of the Scone Neighbourhood Centre was pleased with the turnout and appreciated the support given by the community.
“Family Fun Day was today it was a warm day but still attracted 250 people, everything was free,” Lee Watts said.
“Parents, carers and children were able to draw, colour, make necklaces as well as have their hair coloured, face painted or sit back and watch Sparkles the Clown magic show.
“When it got a bit much they could sit to listen to the books from the Library being read and those with energy left over could complete the obstacle course or try out the soccer darts.
“A big thank you to all the services that attended and provided an activity, a huge call out to the Police and Ambulance for showing the children their vehicles and chatting with our little ones.
“Thankyou also to John and Leon for cooking the BBQ, to the volunteers in the canteen and Woolworths who supported the event with fruit and water for morning tea.
“This is an annual event and the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre, Family Insight and Upper Hunter Shire Council look forward to doing it all again next year,” said Lee Watts.
