Free eBooks and eAudio Books
BORROWBOX has been rolled out to libraries across the Upper Hunter Shire this week, giving all members free access to an ebook and eaudio book library.
Cr Sue Abbott, Chair of the UHSC Library Committee, said it was a fantastic initiative which would allow people to access books outside of normal library hours and from anywhere you can access wi-fi.
“It is wonderful for people who are shift workers, the elderly who may find it difficult getting into the library or just for members who want the convenience of downloading a new book at any hour from home, or anywhere they have wi-fi,” said Cr Abbott.
“eaudio books are available which is great for people who want to listen to a book as they are in transit, but especially for people who are vision impaired,” she said.
“Our local libraries are the most incredible resource for our community and it is wonderful that this means more people can access more books,”she said.
“The future of libraries is really exciting and we are seeing more people using our libraries, more children coming to read, study and access resources, it is great to see the local libraries to be growing as a community hub and the Borrowbox means more people in our community will be able to read more books, which is wonderful,” Cr Sue Abbott said.
Membership at the library is free and members of the library can borrow 10 ebooks and 10 eAudio books for a period of 21 days each, for free from Borrowbox.
