Food Drive for Local Families
A LOCAL charity is appealing to residents to buy an extra food item when they are shopping to help local families in need.
Lee Watts, manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre, said local people who have fallen on hard times need a helping hand.
“Hunger is not something you can see, however there are families and children that go without a meal every day,” said Mrs Watts.
“No person deserves to go to bed hungry and as a community if everyone who can purchases one additional food idem when shopping the result will be available food for those experiencing hard times,” she said.
“I encourage you to assist and help local people that are down on their luck at this time of their lives,” she said.
“Please drop your donation of non-perishable items into the box located in the Scone Neighbourhood Centre’s foyer at 130 Liverpool Street, Scone,” Lee Watts said.
