Festival’s Reputation Takes Off
QANTAS has released their 101 holidays list and among well established festivals such as Floriade in Canberra and the MONA FOMA in Tasmania is the Scone Literary Festival.
The Festival is only in it’s fifth year, but is growing in popularity and literary line-up.
Janie Jordan, interim president of the Festival said they were thrilled.
“It’s a testament to the foresight and dedication of a great group of volunteers with a love of literature and community, who started the festival in 2013,” said Ms Jordan.
“It’s grown from strength to strength and this year is no exception,” she said.
“We have a stellar, if not spicy, line-up with sex, crime and food discussions,” Janie Jordan said.
Featured authors this year include David Marr, who will be talking about Patrick White’s legacy, Tracey Spicer, Meg Keneally, Barry Jones, Ross McMullin, Kate McClymont and Stellar 2018 shortlisted author, Shokoofeh Azar, who will be a special guest at the Saturday evening soiree.
The festival will be held at the Arts and Crafts Hall in Scone over the weekend of November 10 and 11.
Tickets are still available and start at $55 for the weekend: Book at www.sconewritersfestival.com.au
