Lee Watts, president of the Horse Festival Committee said the Festival had surpassed all expectations this year.
“Last night was a wonderful finale to a great Horse Festival,” said Mrs Watts.
“There were so many families out enjoying the stalls, the children’s activities and of course the fireworks, so it was a great way to finish a great Festival,” she said.
“This year it was wonderful to hear how so many events reported it was their biggest year yet, with community support from loyal locals and people travelling from all over the country to be here for the Horse Festival.
“The events attract equine competitors from everywhere and it is wonderful to have so many equine sports showcased in one place with tent pegging, the rodeo, polo, country racing and a whole range of country events,” she said.
“The rodeo reported their biggest year with more than 4,000 people, the Scone Cup reported it’s biggest year with more than 9,000 people and a range of other events are building such as the ball, the finale, the resurgence of yarns night and attracting more horse sports to be part of the growing festival; it’s such a credit to our local community,” she said.
“So many communities struggle to find events that will attract people to their towns and it is wonderful to have an event that is going from strength to strength,” Lee Watts said.
