Editorial: Liquor licence good/bad news update
THE good news this morning with Upper Hunter Shire Council’s liquor licence is it no longer contains an approval to sell packaged alcohol. That means, there is no longer the capacity for a bottle shop.
The bad news is that the licence now allows for sale of alcohol until 4am. Previously the licence only allowed for sale between 10am and 12pm Monday to Saturday, and closing at 10pm on Sundays.
The further bad news is the licence has only been modified, and Upper Hunter Shire Council is still a liquor licensee.
In sum, you won’t be able to get take-away alcohol from the Warbirds, but you will be able to drink there everyday until 4am.
Kind Regards,
Cr Elizabeth Flaherty
