LAST night Scone received 25 millilitres of rain between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

Murrurundi had 23 mls, Merriwa 21 mls, Moonan 15 mls and Aberdeen only 11 mls.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology the Upper Hunter has received less than half the normal rainfall for this time of year.

“In the past three months there has been less than the normal rainfall in the Upper Hunter,” said David.

“In May there was 23 millilitres, Scone hasn’t had much rain in a few months,” he said.

“Across the whole state really it has been dry, there is only the North Coast which has received more than the average rainfall,” he said.

“So over a large area it has been very dry this winter,” he said.

“At this stage there is no rain forecast,” David said.
