“There are people in our community doing it tough and if people can buy an extra tin of tuna or add a bag of rice to their groceries to drop into us it can make all the difference,” said Mrs Watts.

“Non-perishable items of food are great, sauces to go on pasta, cereal, coffee, tea, sugar, small juices for children’s lunch boxes, long life milk and travel mugs for coffee are really great for people to be able to take on the train,” she said.

“We have a small freezer so we can take some bread now too,” she said.

“We have people who regularly drop in toiletries which is wonderful and this morning we were given more than 100 cans of baked beans and spaghetti,” she said.

“The man bought the tins and Coles were kind enough to deliver them to us,” she said.

“We have a fantastic community and the pantry is one small way we can support each other,” Lee Watts said.

Items can be donated to the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre at 130 Liverpool Street, Scone.
