MINOR premiers Aberdeen 2 went down to Golden Fleece Warriors in the Final of Upper Hunter District Cricket club’s “A” grade competition.

A fine century to Josh Noble [113], helped steer his side to a good score of 6 / 238 off their 40 overs .

Other contributors were Dave Spies [50] and James Smart 30.

Aberdeen bowlers could make little impression, with Brad Baker being their best with 2 / 41.

Aberdeen struggled against a, at times, fiery bowling attack, and could only muster 127, off 38 overs, before being bowled out.

Their best was 56 from Michael Hansia.

Warrior’s bowlers Dave Spies [ 4 / 16] and Colin Storey, [2 / 11] did most of the damage.

“A” Grade Final: Warriors 6 / 238 off 40 overs defeated Aberdeen 2 – 127 off 38 overs.

“B” Grade Final: Murrurundi 187 off  35 overs defeated Merriwa 100 off 30 overs.

Grand Finals – Next Week

A Grade: Will see Rouchel play Warriors on Saunders Oval.

B Grade: Aberdeen 1 will play Murrurundi on McNab.
