Creative Classes for Kids
THE Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre will be running four week art, scrapbooking and paper craft sessions.
Lee Watts, manager of the Centre, said she was excited to offer the different classes for children in Kindergarten to Year 6 and the creative arts voucher can be used.
“Art Classes are with Teresa Byrne, a local artist who has painted both people and animals all of her life,” said Mrs Watts.
“Teresa studied a Bachelor of Natural History Illustration at the University of Newcastle graduating with a distinction she also studied in both the UK and Italy,” she said.
“The art classes are for children in year 3 to year 6, with sketchbook and pencils provided,” she said.
“Or you can come along and learn the basics of scrapbooking with Karlene Duwakin,” she said.
“Over four sessions you will learn how to create your own scrapbooking page, showcasing your favourite photo, to be put into an album or showcased in a frame to put on the wall.
“You will also learn to make unique cards to gift to your friends and family.
“And don’t forget the “off the page” elements of scrapbooking – make a special item just for you – the letter of your first name, embellished to perfection and ready to display on your bedroom door or on a shelf in your room!” she said.
“All papers and tools will be supplied. Kindergarten to Year 6 can enrol with classes commencing Thursday, August 22 for four consecutive Thursdays,” Lee Watts said.
