Covid: State hits 70% first vaccinations
NEW South Wales has hit the target of 70 percent vaccination rates for first dose, with 70 percent for second dose predicted to be in mid-October.
The Premier said some restrictions will be lifted at 70 percent for people who are fully vaccinated and said people still had time to get the vaccine.
“Life will be and feel very different,” said Premier Berejiklian.
“Easing at 70 percent will only be for those double vaccinated, so get vaccinated now,” said Gladys Berejiklian.
The Premier said at 80 percent double vaccination international travel will resume.
There were 1288 new cases of covid-19 diagnosed in the past 24 hours.
There are now 160 people in intensive care, 64 people are being ventilated and there have been 7 deaths of people ranging in age from 50 to 80 years of age.
