COVID-19 Update – June 1
TODAY restrictions have eased further in New South Wales allowing 50 people to go to a pub, club or restaurant, beauticians to begin providing services, libraries to open, travel no longer restricted and getting bowlers back on the greens.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said New South Wales had managed the pandemic particularly well to date.
“New South Wales faced the biggest challenges in dealing with Covid-19, their response has been tremendous and they’ve been a great partner to work with through these many, many months,” said Prime Minister Morrison.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian, said she was pleased restrictions could be eased but cautioned outbreaks are expected.
“I’ve been very clear that we expect there will be outbreaks in some communities, but we are in a position to respond when that happens,” said the Premier.
“It is crucial for people to continue to be tested if they have even the mildest symptoms of a cold or flu,” the Premier said.
