Community Needed on Committees

Would you like to have more of a say in Council decisions?

The Upper Hunter Shire Council is seeking community members to be part of a range of Council committees including:

• Australia Day (three committees) – Merriwa, Murrurundi and Scone and Aberdeen districts;
• Community Services and Youth Services;
• Floodplain Management;
• Heritage Advisory;
• Merriwa Aged Hostel;
• Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces;
• Merriwa Showground Users;
• Merriwa Tourism and Promotion;
• Scone Airport Management;
• Scone Old Court Theatre;
• Scone Saleyards;
• Settlement Hall;
• Upper Hunter and Kia Ora Youth Music, and
• Upper Hunter Economic Development and Tourism.

Committees meet for a few hours once a month or once every two months.

There is no pay or reimbursement of costs associated with being on the committee.
