Scone community donations now tax deductible
THE Scone Community Pantry is excited to announce it has received Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status from the Australian Taxation Office.
DGR status means anyone who donates $2.00 or more to the Community Pantry service can now claim the donation as a tax deduction.
Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre manager Lee Watts said the DGR status will also provide the service more access to grant funding in future.
“We were thrilled to receive notification that DGR status was approved for the Community Pantry service,” Ms Watts said.
“The pantry is for anyone needing access to food and essential items and recently we have added a fundraiser for a Breast Care nurse,” she said.
“DGR status also provides additional options to raise funds for the service, including grants that were previously not accessible,” she said.
“It’s fantastic news, which will hopefully encourage more donations and allow us to continue to provide important services to vulnerable people in our community,” said Ms Watts.
