Citizen of the Year 2019
ROBERT “Bob” Mailer was announced Upper Hunter Shire Citizen of the Year for 2019 and also received hte award for Hunter McLoughlin Memorial Citizen of the ear Award.

Bob was recognised for his significant contribution to the communities of Scone and Moonan for more than 50 years. Bob began farming in Moonan in 1958 and moved to Scone in 2007. He was elder and president of the Moonan Church Management Committee for 35 years, secretary of the Bush Fire Brigade for 28 years and the Bushman’s Carnival for 25 years. He served on the Moonan Recreation Reserve Committee for 20 years, including time as president and secretary.
Bob was secretary of the Country/National Party and NSW Farmers District Council and a member of the Moonan Landcare Group, Bush Nurse Committee, Upper Hunter Mummers Inc and Save the Scone Hospital Committee. He was a member of the Belltrees Public School P&C Association before serving on the Scone High School P&C.
When Bob moved to Scone he joined the Probus Club, Scone Travelling Bowlers, Meals on Wheels and Scone District Cancer Support Club. H eis n integral part of the Scone Uniting Church Community and the Pastoral Care Team.
