Cans and Bottles Help Local Charity

THE reverse vending machine at Woolworths in Scone now has an option to donate to the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre.

Lee Watts, manager of the Centre, said she is excited to have received the news.

“The machines are very popular and a great incentive receiving a 10 cent refund for returning eligible beverage containers for recycling it also improves recycling options,” Mrs Watts said.

“People can choose to use their refund as a donation to one of the charities listed on the machine and we applied to be a local charity,” she said.

“We are so glad we were successful and it will mean the funds will assist us in remaining a five day a week service to the community,” Lee Watts said.
