Cabin Fever Comic Relief
ON a rainy day where most local school aged children are climbing the walls, many have enjoyed some comic relief with a high energy, staged intervention for fun freeing them from holiday boredom courtesy of Sean Murphy.
Sean said he loves being a kids comedian because it is more fun for him too.
“It began as a job at Uni, but I really enjoyed it and it gained a life of its own,” said Mr Murphy.
“There are certainly fewer kids comedians than there are adult comedians and with children you can be more playful and wacky, with adults you need to wear jeans and talk about the difference between men and women,” he said.
“I get to travel all over the world for kids comedy, school holidays are especially busy with 30 gigs in 31 days this month and then I’m off to New Zealand, where ever there are kids who want to laugh, I’m in,” Sean Murphy said.
His reviews were surprising considering children tend to be the most honest critics and most easily bored.
“It was fun and interesting and I probably liked being a party professional the most,” said Jak Carter aged 12.
“I really wanted to kill Broc-akini and my favourite part was when we used the swords,” said Charlie Porch aged 5.
More than 30 people attended the performance in Murrurundi this morning, Scone children are just coming down from the hype and the performance in Merriwa is due to commence at 3:30 today.
