Blue Christmas at St Luke’s
CHRISTMAS can be a difficult time for many members of the community.
St Luke’s Anglican Church in Scone will be having a Blue Christmas on Saturday, December 16.
Parishioner, Margaret Wicks said it was important to recognise not everybody feels merry at this time of year.
“Christmas is a time to be merry, a time of joy or so the commercials and Christmas carols playing in the supermarkets tell us,” Ms Wicks said.
“Sadly not everyone will feel “Merry” at this time, some will be grieving a lost loved one, others will be struggling with ill health, family issues, unemployment, or many other difficult situations,” she said.
“This time of reflection and remembrance is for those who are finding it difficult to be “Merry” at this time of year,” she said.
“Everyone is welcome to join us at 5pm for a service offering support and encouragement to everyone,” Margaret Wicks said.
Everyone is welcome; A high tea will be served afterwards in the Thrift Room.
- WHEN: 5pm, Saturday, December 16, 2017.
