Helping Belltrees Weather the Drought
GREEN with a splash of colur is a welcome sight during the drought and a pelargonium drive is helping bring some growth to the Belltrees Public School.
Lynda Posa, from Plants on Main, said some of her suppliers wanted to know how they could help regional people during the drought, which sprouted the pelargonium drive.
“The Geranium Cottage and Plants on Main have joined forces to help the Belltrees Public School keep their vegetable patch growing during the drought, with the proceeds from pelargoniums going to the school,” said Ms Posa.
“They are building a beautiful vegetable garden and they have an agricultural history in their school, which is 140 years old now, which is pretty amazing,” she said.
“This is one way that the community can help the school and planting pelargoniums in your garden is good during a drought, because they are very tough,” Lynda Posa said.
