Beef Bonanza Extended
THE Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza Junior Judging Competition has been extended for two weeks and will now close on November 20.
The virtual competition presented by Achmea Farm Insurance started on October 23 and was set to end tomorrow.
It features three classes of beef cattle; Stud bulls, Stud females and Trade cattle, with free online entry for kids in primary and high school age groups.
Junior judges are required to view images and videos, rank the animals from one to four and provide a three-minute video outlining their reasoning.
Prize money will go to the top five placements, starting with $100 for first place and the overall Grand Champion Junior Judge will have the opportunity to participate in the renowned Beef Cattle Assessing Course at Tocal College.
School’s with the highest participation and highest point scoring students will receive $1,000 worth of Cattle Shop gift vouchers.
Students looking for some expert advice on assessing and judging different types of cattle can watch educational webinars on the Beef Bonanza website.
Competition results will be released online on Friday, December 4.
