A Current Affair In Scone
Yesterday A Current Affair (ACA) came to the Upper Hunter to speak to locals about the Merriwa Willow Tree Road and the Scone Airport upgrade and warbird museum.
Approximately 20 Merriwa residents met at the barriers on Willow Tree road to tell ACA how they feel about not being able to use the road for another three years whilst rectification works take place.
Scone residents also shed light on their expectations surrounding viability of the $23 million Airport project.
Today ACA interviewed Mayor Collison and Council general manager Steve McDonald about the road and the airport.
Mayor Collison apologised to Shire residents for the mismanagement of Willow Tree Road and said he is working on getting one lane open for road users.
General Manager Steve McDonald said Council is currently “reviewing the process” to determine who is accountable.
The A Current Affair episode will air at 7pm on Saturday night on Channel Nine.
A follow-up story on the interview with the Mayor and General Manager will be posted shortly.
