IT was a warm but pleasant day at Scone on Thursday, April 21 when the lady golfers played an 18 Hole Stableford for a Royal Hotel Trophy.
A good field turned out and the winner Julie Leckie, in a purple patch of form, had 39 points.
Sarah Howey made a welcome return to the course and had 36 points.
She was runner up on a countback from Cheryl Clydsdale who was also having her first 18 holes for the season.
Sue Watts won the NTP on the 17th with a good shot to 3.3 metres.
Ball winners were: Julie Leckie 39, Sarah Howey, Cheryl Clydsdale 36, Wendy Clift 33 and Lyn Banks 32 points.
The crows again caused havoc with much yahoo and chasing being to no avail on occasions.
On Saturday April 23 a good field of ladies played an 18 Hole Stableford in windy conditions.
Sharon Constable had a terrific round to have 42 points and be the clear winner on a difficult day. Balls were won by Lyn Banks 30, Kerry McLennan 29 and Cheryl Clydsdale 27.

On Thursday April 28, the ladies will play an 18 Holes Stableford for a Scone Sporties Trophy and it will also be Round 1 of the Peter and Marg Marshall Singles Knockout for a few matches required.
In round 6 of the HRDGA Pennants the team will have a short trip to Aberdeen to play Singleton on Monday May 2.
On Saturday April 23, the men played an 18 Hole Stableford for the Field Family Trophy.
It was a challenging day on the course but there were some very good scores for the winners.
The grade winners were: A Grade: Will O’Donnell 42 points; B Grade: Scott Reid 40 points; C Grade: David Adams 41 points.
In an innovative initiative the Field Family also put on a trophy for the 65’s and over, no doubt Jim Elder with 38 points was appreciative of this.
NTP’s: 2nd / 11th: Stuart Dawson 1.3 metres 8th / 17th: Mick Reynolds 2.9 metres
Ball winners were: Will O’Donnell 42, David Adams 41, Scott Reid 40, Mark Hayes 39, Troy Collison, Jim Elder, Tony Bowd 38, Richie Bennett (vis) 36, Gary Taylor, Gary Brown, George Campbell, Ross Higham 35, Rod Spratt 34, Clayton Rogers, Paul Smart, George Betts, Andy Phelps, Mick Alsleben & Jeff Harrington all on 33 & Joel Woods 32 on a countback.
The President’s Trophy winner was Jim Elder on 81 points after two good rounds of 43, 38, ahead of Scott Reid on 76.
On Saturday April 30 the event will be an 18 Hole Stableford for the Mick Alsleben and Luck’s Meats Trophy and it will also be the last round of the 4BBB Championships.
Players are reminded that the 1st round of the Kevans Knockout must be played by May 7.
