Caught in the Act
A 21 year old male from Aberdeen was caught by police hiding under a motor vehicle in the garage after allegedly breaking into a house in Gray Street, Scone.
Police allege on Sunday at approximately 9:45pm the young man had driven a white 4×2 Ford Ranger to the house, had a cigarette and then placed a pack back containing tools at the boundary fence.
The accused then drove the vehicle 400 metres away to Satur Road where he left the vehicle and returned to the property in Gray Street.
It is alleged he then gained access at the rear of the yard through an unlocked side gate and into a rear entertainment area attached to the main house.
The accused gained unlawful entry into the residence by breaking the rear door lock.
Once inside the house, the Accused has commenced to looking through the house.
Police attended the location and upon entering the rear entertaining area they observed the Accused running and exiting the residence via the rear glass sliding door.
The Accused was directed to stop, however he ignored police and ran into the garage holding a large knife and along flat metal object in his right hand and was found hiding under a vehicle.
The Accused was arrested, handcuffed, searched and cautioned.
A search of the black back pack located numerous items including house breaking implements and tools.
Police searched the man’s vehicle and took him to Muswellbrook police station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent – armed, and possess housebreaking implements.
He was given conditional bail to appear at Scone Local Court on April 21, 2016.

Metal Work Room Broken Into
THE metal work room at Scone High School was broken into between 6pm on Thursday March 24 and 6am on Tuesday March 29.
The front door lock was broken and two fire extinguishers were removed, with one let off.
Both fire extinguishers were later found underneath the same building by a staff member.
Two glass louvres were also removed and broken from the hall building.
Submerged Vehicle at Glenbawn Dam
A dark blue Honda CRV was found submerged in Glenbawn Dam at approximately 3:30pm on Sunday near Glenbawn Dam Road 4.1 kilometres from the Segenhoe Road intersection.
The person who reported the matter to police had walked through a cut fence to reach the waters edge and said the vehicle was first sighted by fisherman at 8:30am and children were seen throwing rocks at the vehicle at 9am.
One of the people who reported the matter to police went out to the car in 1.5 metres of water and reported that the number plates had been removed and located a key in the ignition which was turned on.
Police will work with State Water to obtain further details of the vehicle.
