Bomb Scare at Mt Arthur

BHP Billiton has confirmed there was a bomb scare at its Mount Arthur coal mine operation yesterday morning.

The company spokesperson described the decision to suspend operations and evacuate employees as a precautionary measure “due to information being received.”

Police were notified, the information was assessed and operations were recommenced.

Sources have said operations were suspended for approximately 90 minutes, however the Company would not confirm the time frame or any further details.
