Young Rider Olivia Inglis
THE name of the young rider killed at the Scone Horse Trials today has been released and was Olivia Inglis the 17 year old daughter of Charlotte and Arthur Inglis.
Arthur Inglis is well known in the racing community as a bloodstock auctioneer.
Olivia was riding the family horse Coriolanus in the two star competition, when the horse is reported to have clipped its front legs on a jump and Olivia was caught underneath.
Kiwa Fisher, described Olivia as a highly capable equestrian rider and had been competing on Coriolanus for a couple of years, including their last event in Sydney, which was also a two star event.
Ms Judy Fasher, spokesperson for Equestrian Australia said Olivia had been riding since she was a little girl.
“She was an accomplished rider, very experienced and has been riding all her life, since she was a little tot,” she said.
“Her mother is a rider, she trained and rode the horse.”
The Scone Horse Trials committee and Equestrian Australia offer their heartfelt condolences to Charlotte and Arthur Inglis and their family for their tragic loss and request their privacy be respected at this time.
