377 new blocks approved in Scone
TODAY the Land and Environment court upheld an appeal to allow a 377 lot subdivision to proceed at 150 Gundy Road, Scone.
The development application was initially lodged with Upper Hunter Shire Council in 2017. The matter was referred to the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Planning Panel, which refused the development in 2020, based on concerns with dryland salinity in the area, access, storm water management, ecological impacts and bushfires.
Council then agreed to allow the applicant to amend their plans and documents to address the reasons for refusal. Both parties entered into conciliation and reached agreement on the terms of the development.
The Land and Environment Court today disposed of legal proceedings and granted consent for the development.
