Filed in Just In by September 27, 2021

Even when the state reaches 70 percent, if an outbreak occurs in a town, people won’t be able to travel in or out of the town until the outbreak is under control.

The Premier said on October 11, restrictions will be lifted in line with the 70 percent roadmap.

The state is expected to reach 80 percent double vaccination rate at the end of October, at which point more freedoms will be given to vaccinated people.

Travel into the regions has been pushed back from the state reaching 70 percent, to now 80 percent double dose.

Unvaccinated to remain restricted:
  • The Premier stressed unvaccinated people will be subject to all restrictions until December 1.
  • Unvaccinated people living in regional areas, which are not in lockdown, will be subject to stay at home orders when the state reaches 70 percent and will not be entitled to the same easing of restrictions as vaccinated people.
  • Deputy Premier, John Barilaro said there was “no excuse not to get vaccinated in the regions”, stressing all pharmacies have Astra Zeneca and Moderna and some GPs have Pfizer.
