David Layzell, Upper Hunter Member of Parliament, said the community volunteers who have stepped up to run the clinic have been outstanding.
“The Royal Flying Doctors Service will be administering the vaccine and are supported by a range of local volunteers,” said Mr Layzell MP.
“The Merriwa pharmacy is shutting for the day and are volunteering their time to help with vaccinations, even Denman chemist is closing for half a day to send a volunteer to the pop-up, local doctors, hospital staff, everyone is pulling together to ensure they can vaccinate as many local people as possible,” he said.
“It is really is incredible to see local communities come together to help each other and they are all volunteering their time, which really shows the calibre of people we have in our community,” he said.
“I’d encourage everyone in the local community to take advantage of the clinic and anyone from the Upper Hunter Shire Council area is welcome,” David Layzell MP said.
