Covid case confirmed in Dubbo

Filed in Just In by August 11, 2021

THERE has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 identified in Dubbo, linked to the Dubbo West Public School and Macquarie Anglican Grammar School.

The confirmed case became symptomatic on Monday, was tested yesterday. Nine close contacts have been identified and are now also undergoing testing.

How the person contracted Covid-19 is not established and a link to an infectious couple who travelled through the region in June has not been ruled out.

Last Tuesday and Thursday, sewerage testing found fragments of the virus and the Dubbo community was encouraged to come forward for testing.

Further advice on people who have visited Dubbo is expected at this morning’s Covid media conference.
