Weather: The week ahead
UPPER Hunter residents will wake up to cold frosty mornings this week, followed by mostly sunny conditions and clear skies for the remainder of the day.
The high pressure atmosphere will create cold night time temperatures, patches of morning fog and chilly westerly winds throughout the day, making temperatures feel colder than usual.
Daytime temperatures will warm towards Friday, with tops of 18 degrees on Thursday.
A low pressure system is expected to develop offshore on Thursday evening, bringing a chance of rain and possible thunderstorms on Friday.
Scone is currently expected to receive between eight and 15 milliliters, however rainfall may vary depending on the strength of the system by the time it reaches the Upper Hunter.
Showers have the potential to linger on Saturday, but are expected to clear by Sunday.
Snow is not forecasted to fall on the Barrington Tops this weekend, however this may change depending on the development of the low pressure system towards the end of the week.

Glenbawn Dam is currently sitting at 60.1 percent capacity, a 0.6 percent increase since last week.
