Weather: The week ahead

PARTLY cloudy and sunny conditions for Scone this week, a glorious lead up to the Easter long weekend.

The Upper Hunter will experience cooler than average March temperatures this week, with temperatures warming throughout the week, reaching a top of 29 degrees on Saturday.

Overall soil density is expected to start drying out following the recent heavy rainfall and flash flooding however, river levels will still be up for several months, as water makes its way down the interior.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns those planning on travelling this easter weekend, not to be complacent and keep an eye out for road and river conditions.

The Glenbawn Dam has had a significant capacity increase of 3.1 percent and is currently sitting at 55.4 percent capacity.
