Police: Child Approach Yesterday
POLICE are appealing for public assistance following a 14 year old girl being approached by a man driving a silvery-grey SUV with Queensland number plates, at approximately 1:45pm yesterday, as she walked along Susan Street in Scone, near Murray Bain Oval.
Please note: Police initially reported the incident occurred on Friday, however they have since confirmed it occurred on Saturday afternoon.
The driver asked if she wanted a lift and when she declined, the man drove away.
The girl went to a nearby home, alerted her family and police were contacted.
The man is described as being of African appearance, in his 40s or 50s, of medium build and wearing a dark green polo shirt.
Local police are investigating the matter and are seeking public assistance to identify the man and clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
