Merry Christmas and a Safe New Year!!
THANK YOU to all of our readers and our Christmas wish for everyone is a safe New Year!
It has been a long and unpredictable year and thankfully now we can down tools for a moment and hopefully spend some time with the people we hold most dear.
Scone was fortunate to have only had one case of coronavirus, who recovered.
We had no community transmission and we can only hope our small community continues to take care of each other and remains Covid-free in 2021.
We’ve reported on the heartwarming, the controversial and a few tragic events this year and going into this time of year I can’t help but think of the descriptor Magistrate Prowse reserved for these few weeks: the killing season.
I hope this year things are different, with more people staying at home and less people traveling, I hope we get through this period safely.
At this time of year, please take some extra time on the road, slowing down by 10 kilometres can make all the difference, being patient with other drivers, not taking any risks and definitely passing up on that drink that could take you over the limit can keep everyone safe on our roads.
The scone.com.au team have now stepped away from our keyboards to have some down time, but we will be around to report on things the community may need to know and return with all hands on deck on January 11.
Merry Christmas and see you all safe and happy in the New Year!!
Kind Regards,
Elizabeth Flaherty and Team
