Mc Mc Hooray
THE Scone McDonald’s team would like to thank the community for supporting their successful McHappy Day over the weekend.
“It was a really good day, we beat our fundraising goal by $1,000, which we are pretty happy with,” said Customer Service Department Manager and McHappy Day Coordinator, Jackson Barry.
“I don’t know the national total but the Scone store raised about $6,800 for Ronald McDonald House Charities from bucket donations, raffle donations, silly sock donations and $2 donated from every Big Mac sold.
“Thanks to all the local businesses who supported us . . . Warburton Estate Agents made a substantial corporate donation and we’d also like to thank the Bedggood family, who made a substantial personal donation to the charity.
“Just thank you to everyone who came through on the day and made a donation, no matter how big or how small, it all makes a difference and it all goes right to the people who need it the most.”
Mr Barry said the fundraising activities went very smoothly in terms of COVID-19 compliance, as a lot of people came via drive-through.
“The highlight of the day was just the general outpour of support from the community,” he said.
“We had eleven or twelve winners of the raffle and they came from all over, Sydney, locals, all sorts.
“We get customers who are regular McHappy Day people, they come in once a year for McHappy Day and buy a Big Mac to support us and that might be the only time we might see them in the year but they will always come through and support us.”
There are still a limited number of Macca’s silly socks left, so get in quick if you want a pair!
