Scone and Aberdeen Boil Water Alert: It’s Not Over Yet!

Filed in Recent News by August 6, 2020

THE Upper Hunter Shire Council have announced the boil water alert for Scone and Aberdeen will remain in place until at least next Monday, August 10, after water quality test results did not meet New South Wales Health standards.

So far, Council have flushed around 5 million litres of dirty water and said the water quality is slowly improving.

Council are now mapping areas for priority flushing and have requested residents experiencing cloudy water, to take photos and email them, along with their address, to council@upperhunter.nsw.gov.au.

Council apologised for the inconvenience caused by the boil water alert and said they are now seeking grant funding for a multi-million dollar water treatment plant, which would provide more water treatment options in future.

Scone and Aberdeen residents are advised to boil water for drinking and food preparation, until further notice.
