Scone Junior Golf
By Lyn Banks
Scone Golf Club would like to re-establish Junior Golf in Scone on a regular basis. On Sunday, April 5 a free “Come and Try” day will be held at the Scone Golf Course at 10am for all boys and girls under 18 years of age.
They will be able to experience the new practice facilities including the practice putting and chipping greens, a practice bunker and two hitting nets. While they are using the practice area, a meeting will be held to discuss the formation of a Junior Golf Committee.
The Committee would be responsible for the promotion and running of junior golf on a regular basis. It would also liaise with Scone Golf Club on the pathways of progression into the Club’s competitions. It is hoped that many of the members who have children can become involved and help to facilitate play of this great game to the next generation. The community is very fortunate to have access to a high quality venue to enjoy the game of golf at Scone.
After the meeting the juniors will be able to take to the course to play up to 9 holes.
If you are interested in junior golf but are unable to attend on the day, or would like more information please contact Ross Banks on 0488 591 237.
