Johnsen Tells Council to Get to Work
IN an unorthodox move, Michael Johnsen, the Upper Hunter state member of parliament, addressed Councillors at last night’s Council meeting and told them to “just get on with the job” of the airport development.
Stating that the state government had given grant money and the project plan had passed through various government departments including Infrastructure, the Treasury and the Office of Local Government which was enough “stamp of approval”.
He caution Council not to “put any other development at risk” and said “you got your money….get on with the job please!”
Cr Joshua Brown asked Mr Johnsen if undertaking a review would put the grant funding at risk, to which Mr Johnsen replied, “not technically…but in reality there are plenty of other projects the state government could put money into.”
