Grammar School Stockman’s Challenge
LAST Friday, Scone Grammar School students hosted a Stockman’s Challenge at White Park, with 55 students competing from schools from Arimdale to the Central Coast .
The Challenge incorporated practical stockwork elements in horse sports including opening gates and working with cattle.
Scone Grammar School took out Champion Primary School and several students winning champion and reserve champion across many age groups in the competition.
Paul Smart, principal of the Scone Grammar School was grateful to Anne Davies for organising the event and the Australian Stock Horse Association for their support of the day.
“The Stockman’s Challenge is a unique event in school horse sports and we enjoyed the opportunity to create this event for students to display their practical equestrian skills, within walking distance of our school, in Scone, the Horse Capital of Australia,” said Paul Smart.
The hospitality students kept the canteen running with plenty of food and aluminium drink bottles with iced water, while keeping it sugar free and using no single use plastics!
