Veteran’s Golf Report: June 18

Under threatening skies, 27 Vets played a stroke and putting event at Aberdeen Golf Club on Tuesday, June 18. Unfortunately it did not rain.
Jeff McKeon beat Tony Pearson narrowly on a count-back with the very good scores of nett 63, from Robert Colbert 3rd 65, Peter Daunton 4th 66 and Graham Huggins 5th 76.
Balls went to Jim Elder and Christine Smith 70, Gary Morley and Les Brown 71, Graham Guest, Col Solway and Graham Boles 72, Red Palmer 73 and President Paul Gorman and Treasurer Bob Minch 74.
Nearest the Pins: 4th & 16th Tony Pearson 7th Captain Phil Ledgerwood 9th/18th Christine Smith 13th Gary Morley (Thank you to Terry Mitchell for donating the ball prizes for the nearest the pins.)
The putting wine, kindly donated by Aberdeen Recreation Club, was won by Terry Mitchell with 27 putts. Best Scratch Score: Bob Colbert with 80 C/B.
The Bradman’s trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by Tommy Thompson.
