Veteran’s Golf: April 30

FIFTY veterans contested for the Challenge Shield at Muswellbrook Golf Club when visitors Henbury Vets took on UHVGA on Tuesday, April 30. Thank you to Beryl and Jason in the pro-shop and treasurer Bob Minch who organised much of the day – lunches, groups, raffle, score cards, carts and even a porta-loo. Thank you also to the maintenance staff for the excellent condition of the course and to the kitchen staff for coping with many lunches. – four choices to choose from
Upper Hunter won the challenge with a total of 380 stableford points from their ten best players, with Henbury recording 336. The second round of the challenge will take place on Thursday, September 12 at Henbury.
In the ladies’ event Pam Minch was first with 39, Christine Smith 2nd 37, Beryl Taylor 3rd 33 and Di Thorley 4th 32.
In the men’s event first was Bob Minch 42, 2nd former captain Max Holz 40, 3rd Red Palmer 39, 4th Graham Huggins 38, 5th Barry Mason, 6th John Hadley and 7th Graham Boles C/B all on 37.

The Bradman’s trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by Gary Morley!
Next Week: On Tuesday, May 7 we are back at Muswellbrook for the Ossie Miles Trophy (stableford) with hit-off at 8.30 am. Tuesday, May 14 will NOT be at Denman – to be determined.
