Drought Support in Town this Week
TOMORROW a drought roadshow will arrive in Scone to help local farmers connect with government drought support services.
A range of government agencies will be available to assess individual situations and provide assistance accessing drought support.
Local farmers are encouraged to attend to check what assistance they may qualify to receive.
- When: 9am – 12pm
- Where: Scone Bowling Club, Gundy Road, Scone.
Cuppa and Connect
Hunter Local Land Services, the DPI Rural Resilience Program and Upper Hunter Community Services have joined together to bring “Connect Morning Teas” to towns throughout the Hunter, travelling to a new town each week.
This week they will be in Murrurundi with morning tea and staff available to answer the hard questions around drought support and help with paperwork.
The schedule for the Cuppas will be first week of the month around Murrurundi, second week Gundy and third week Merriwa.
- When: 10am – 1pm, Wednesday, February 6.
- Where: Murrurundi’s Pop-Up Pantry, 41 Mayne Street, Murrurundi.
DROUGHT HUB: Farmers are encouraged to log onto the Department of Primary Industries Drought Hub to access all of the latest loans, subsidies, waivers and initiatives for drought support. They are also reminded to check the New On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate in the Subsidies section as they may be eligible for up to 25% of new water costs back dated to July 2018 for up to $25,000.
